KiCad MCP Proby oaslananka
A KiCad 10 server for schematic, PCB, ERC/DRC, DFM and fab-release review, starting in a bounded read-only profile.
KiCad has no official MCP server, but it has the largest set of community EDA servers and skills listed here. Some servers edit the board open in KiCad through the IPC API (KiCad 9 and later). Others work on saved .kicad_sch and .kicad_pcb files, using the older SWIG pcbnew bindings or kicad-cli for ERC, DRC and exports. Check which interface a server uses before you install it: KiCad plans to remove the SWIG bindings in KiCad 11, and several newer projects support KiCad 10 only.
A KiCad 10 server for schematic, PCB, ERC/DRC, DFM and fab-release review, starting in a bounded read-only profile.
A large KiCad 9+ server for schematic capture, placement, routing, DRC/ERC and fab exports, using pcbnew bindings with an experimental IPC mode.
Reads OrCAD .DSN, Altium .SchDoc and KiCad schematics without the EDA tool, for net tracing and reviews.
An 18-tool KiCad server covering schematic to routed board, with FreeRouter autorouting, panelisation and LCSC part lookup.
A 109-tool KiCad 9/10 server that edits project files directly, now in maintenance mode after its author's own comparison tests.
Successor to KiCAD-MCP-Server: a closed-source Rust plugin for KiCad 10 that edits boards over the IPC API, free during beta.
Seeed Studio's KiCad server for schematic and PCB analysis, pin-level net tracing, ERC/DRC and device-tree code generation.
A KiCad server built on the IPC API that runs one instance per editor: schematic, PCB, symbol or footprint.
A small experimental server that edits the board open in KiCad 9 over the IPC API, with every write as one undo step.
A CLI that scaffolds KiCad projects for Claude Code with EDA slash commands, agents, skills and three MCP servers configured.
An analysis-focused KiCad server: finds your projects, extracts netlists and BOMs, runs DRC via kicad-cli and spots circuit patterns.
A PCB-only KiCad server built on the official kicad-python IPC library, checking board state with screenshots before and after each edit.
Agent skills for Diode's pcb CLI and Zener language: import KiCad projects, run ngspice testbenches and search parts.
Eleven design-review skills that parse KiCad schematics, boards and Gerbers, then check power trees, EMC risk and SPICE behaviour.
Nine KiCad skills with a headless Python engine that edits schematics and boards, checks each write and diffs the result.
A Python circuits-as-code library that writes KiCad projects, shipped with Claude Code skills, agents and slash commands.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what KiCad lets programs do. KiCad exposes 4 automation interfaces:
The KiCad project hasn't announced an MCP server or a built-in AI assistant. Its developer documentation describes the IPC API as the supported way for external software to control a running KiCad, and says the SWIG Python bindings are deprecated and due for removal in KiCad 11. Every server and skill on this page is a third-party project.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Cherry Studio, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cline, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, Google Antigravity, OpenCode, VS Code, VS Code (GitHub Copilot), Windsurf and opencode. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most KiCad integrations run on your own computer next to KiCad, so you need KiCad installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
No. As of 4 November 2026 the KiCad project hasn't published one. The servers listed here are community projects, plus one commercial beta (Konnect-EDA) from the author of KiCAD-MCP-Server.
It can drive most of the steps through an MCP server: placing parts, wiring the schematic, placing footprints, routing or autorouting, and running DRC. Results still need review by someone who knows the circuit; several authors say outright that their tools don't replace engineering sign-off.
Konnect-EDA, kicad-mcp-python (Finerestaurant), Netlist Studio's kicad-mcp and Huaqiu's kicad-mcp use the IPC API. KiCAD-MCP-Server uses the SWIG bindings with an experimental IPC mode. KiCad MCP Pro uses IPC for live work and kicad-cli for checks. mcp-server-kicad, the Seeed Studio server and blwfish's kicad-mcp work mainly on files, with pcbnew or kicad-cli where needed.
It depends on the project. KiCAD-MCP-Server and the lamaalrajih server need KiCad 9 or later, and the Seeed Studio and blwfish servers accept KiCad 8. Konnect-EDA and KiCad MCP Pro target KiCad 10, and KiCad MCP Pro has dropped KiCad 9. The kicad-happy skills read files from KiCad 5 through 10.
Yes. kicad-happy, KiSkill and circuit-synth ship Claude Code skills that parse or generate KiCad files with their own Python code, and call kicad-cli for checks when KiCad is installed.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
