Universal Netlist MCP Serverby IntelligentElectron
Reads OrCAD .DSN, Altium .SchDoc and KiCad schematics without the EDA tool, for net tracing and reviews.
Community MCP servers drive OrCAD Capture through its Tcl interface and Allegro PCB Editor through SKILL, on Windows with a licensed copy open. Each is pinned to one release: 16.6 Lite with PSpice, SPB 17.4, or the Allegro X 25.1 placement prototype. Skills cover Capture Tcl scripting and checking a schematic against the built board, and one server reads .DSN files with no Cadence install. Cadence hasn't published an MCP server for OrCAD or Allegro.

An MCP server that edits OrCAD Capture 16.x schematics through Tcl and COM and runs PSpice simulations.
One MCP server with 12 tools for OrCAD Capture and Allegro PCB Editor 17.4, read-only by default.
A prototype plugin and MCP server that plans and places parts in OrCAD X / Allegro X PCB Editor 25.1.
A fork of Cadence-MCP-SPB17 with 26 tools for OrCAD Capture CIS and Allegro 17.4, paged output and write gates.
A skill with tested OrCAD Capture and PSpice automation steps, from drawing to PDF export, for orcad-mcp.
A skill and diff tool for checking an OrCAD schematic against the Allegro board as manufactured.
A documentation-only skill that helps an agent write OrCAD Capture Tcl scripts for Cadence SPB 23.1+.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what OrCAD / Allegro lets programs do. OrCAD / Allegro exposes 3 automation interfaces:
Cadence's AI work for PCB centres on Allegro X AI, which Futurum's CadenceLIVE 2026 report describes as bringing placement, routing and early agentic flow automation to packaging and PCB. These run inside Cadence's own tools. No official MCP server or third-party AI client support for OrCAD or Allegro was found as of this check.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Codex CLI, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, VS Code and ZCode. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most OrCAD / Allegro integrations run on your own computer next to OrCAD / Allegro, so you need OrCAD / Allegro installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
Yes, community ones. Two servers drive OrCAD Capture and Allegro PCB Editor 17.4 over Tcl and SKILL sockets, one drives Capture 16.6 and PSpice, and a prototype places parts in Allegro X 25.1. Cadence hasn't released its own.
Partly. Reading parts, nets and properties works well. Property edits and some wiring work through the database layer, but the 17.4 server notes that Capture doesn't persist property edits until you save by hand, and interactive commands such as PlaceWire can crash Capture from a socket.
Each server targets one release: 16.6 Lite (orcad-mcp), SPB 17.4 (Cadence-MCP-SPB17 and its fork) or OrCAD X / Allegro X 25.1 (the placement agent). The Capture Tcl skill targets SPB 23.1 and later. Universal Netlist reads .DSN files from Library stream version 3 onward.
Be careful. Cadence-MCP-SPB17 measured the stock Capture server listening on all network interfaces without authentication, so anyone who can reach the port can run code. Use its loopback-only start script and stop the server when you finish.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
