What it can do
- Compares an OrCAD pstxnet.dat netlist export with an Allegro allpins.txt pin dump as sets of pins, so renamed nets still match.
- Sorts results into exact matches, near misses and board nets with no schematic counterpart.
- Sets an evidence order that trusts Gerber, drill and netlist data over screenshots or a design that opens without errors.
- Includes a pywinauto recipe for driving OrCAD Capture and notes on failure modes seen in AI agents.
Limitations
- You export the netlist and pin dump yourself; the pin dump needs a SKILL script in Allegro.
- The README gives no install steps for the skill or tested Cadence versions.
Install
python tools/netlist_diff.py pstxnet.dat allpins.txtMCP servers and skills run code on your computer. Review the source before installing.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
