PyAEDT-MCPby Ansys (Synopsys)
Ansys's own MCP server for Electronics Desktop: launches or attaches to AEDT over gRPC and runs PyAEDT code in a persistent session.
Tresca tracks 11 tools in this field. 11 have at least one listed MCP server or agent skill.
Electronics design has some of the most active AI integration work of any field. KiCad has the widest choice, with servers that use KiCad's IPC API, its Python bindings or kicad-cli, and several skill packs for schematic review, BOM checks and layout. LTspice and ngspice have simulation servers, and Altium, OrCAD and Allegro have community servers.
Official integrations are appearing in RF and FPGA tools. Keysight ships an MCP server with ADS 2027, Ansys publishes PyAEDT-MCP for HFSS, Maxwell and the rest of its Electronics Desktop, and AMD documents an MCP server and agent skills for Vivado. CST Studio Suite and Quartus have several community servers. Whatever an agent places or routes, run your design rule and electrical rule checks and review the board before manufacture.
Ansys's own MCP server for Electronics Desktop: launches or attaches to AEDT over gRPC and runs PyAEDT code in a persistent session.
Keysight's MCP server inside ADS 2027: attaches to a running ADS session, runs Python in it and searches ADS documentation.
AMD's skill pack for Vivado, Vitis HLS and Vitis AI work, installable as a plugin or with npx skills.
AMD's own MCP server for Vivado, part of AMD Ross: starts or attaches to Vivado and runs Tcl in it.
It depends on your KiCad version and setup. Servers differ in whether they use KiCad's IPC API, its Python bindings or kicad-cli, and the KiCad page compares them without ranking.
Some do. Keysight ships an MCP server with ADS 2027, Ansys publishes PyAEDT-MCP for HFSS and Electronics Desktop, and AMD documents an MCP server for Vivado. Altium, Cadence and Intel's tools have community servers.
Some servers place and route parts, but run your design rule and electrical rule checks and review the board yourself before sending it to manufacture.
