What it can do

  • Checks whether AEDT is installed, then launches a new session or connects to a running one on a gRPC port, locally or on a reachable remote machine.
  • Opens and saves projects, creates designs for any AEDT application, validates and solves them, and exports Touchstone, convergence, profile and mesh data.
  • Keeps a persistent PyAEDT Python session, so the agent can run its own code with run_python_code when no dedicated tool fits.
  • Returns a structured model summary and a screenshot of the 3D modeler view.
  • Optional context tools return PyAEDT guidance per topic (HFSS, Maxwell, Icepak, meshing, boundaries, post-processing).

Limitations

  • Version 0.3.x, marked Alpha on PyPI; tool names and behaviour may still change.
  • Needs Python 3.13 or later and Git for the uvx install route.
  • Most work goes through the free-form Python tool, so results depend on the agent writing correct PyAEDT code; there are no HFSS-specific modelling tools for ports or boundaries.
