What it can do
- Launches a new MAPDL instance, connects to an existing one, or disconnects on request.
- Runs single APDL commands or batches of them, plus free-form Python and PyMAPDL code in a persistent session.
- Produces matplotlib and PyVista plots or captures MAPDL's own plots.
- Returns guidance for each phase of a MAPDL analysis, from preprocessing to postprocessing.
Limitations
- Version 0.3.x and marked Alpha on PyPI.
- The HTTP transport has no authentication; the docs warn that anyone who can reach the port can run arbitrary Python and APDL /SYS commands, so keep it on loopback.
- Needs Python 3.12 or later.
