What it can do

  • Launches Workbench journals and Mechanical Python scripts, reads job logs, and runs Python in the open Mechanical session through a file queue or a localhost socket.
  • Attaches to the one current Workbench session behind an identity check, inventories the project and opens or saves projects without overwriting by default.
  • Builds rotating static, baseline modal and prestressed modal analyses, then meshes, solves and extracts deformation, stress and frequency results.
  • Pairs with the hub's Ansys structural skills, which set the analysis and validation policy.

Limitations

  • Windows only, and needs the bundled ACT extension copied into your Ansys ACT extensions folder.
  • Model-changing tools use the queue so Mechanical runs them on its UI thread; the socket path is meant for read-only checks.
  • Lives in a monorepo with many other adapters; there is no package to install.
