What it can do

  • Executes Abaqus Python on the CAE GUI thread through a TCP bridge on 127.0.0.1:48152, so model changes show in the open session.
  • Lists models, parts, sets, surfaces and jobs, sets the working directory and submits existing jobs.
  • Tails .sta and .msg files during a solve, inspects ODB contents and captures viewport images.
  • Pairs with the hub's 25 Abaqus skills for modelling and analysis workflows.

Limitations

  • Abaqus/CAE must be open and the bridge started from Plug-ins > Abaqus MCP > Start Socket Bridge.
  • The bridge design is adapted from Whfkl/Abaqus-Control-MCP; both use the same default port, so run only one bridge at a time.

Install

py -m venv .venv
.\.venv\Scripts\python.exe -m pip install -U pip
.\.venv\Scripts\python.exe -m pip install -e .
