What it can do
- The CATIA V5 server has 55 typed tools for Part Design, Generative Shape Design surfaces, products and native CATIA Analysis (ELFINI) cases, meshes and reports; it exposes no raw COM or script tool.
- The NX server runs a .NET Remoting bridge inside NX 2412 and covers sketches, features, assemblies with constraints, sheet metal, drafting and a CAM set-up foundation.
- The SOLIDWORKS server edits the active document incrementally and builds parametric blocks, cylinders, flanges, stepped shafts and involute gears.
- Each server ships unit tests and live smoke-test scripts to run before use.
Limitations
- Windows only; each server must run as the same Windows user and elevation level as the CAD program.
- Setup scripts and examples target Codex; other clients need manual configuration.
- Parts of the SOLIDWORKS documentation are in Chinese.
