AI integrations for geotechnical engineering
Tresca tracks 6 tools in this field. 3 have at least one listed MCP server or agent skill.
Geotechnical software has only a handful of AI integrations so far, all from the community. PLAXIS has two MCP servers that drive PLAXIS 2D through its Python remote scripting server, one of them with a skill that encodes PLAXIS-specific modelling steps. Itasca's FLAC, 3DEC and PFC have servers built on Itasca's Python and FISH scripting, and GeoStudio has a community server.
No geotechnical vendor publishes an MCP server yet. Bentley's official servers cover STAAD.Pro and MicroStation but not PLAXIS, and Rocscience's agent features work only inside its own desktop app. Tools such as RS2, Slide2, LPILE and MIDAS GTS NX have nothing listed; their pages describe what each program lets scripts do. Geotechnical models depend heavily on judgement about soil parameters, constitutive models and staging, so treat anything an agent builds as a starting point for review.

Questions
Is there an official PLAXIS MCP server?
Not as of November 2026. Bentley's official MCP servers cover STAAD.Pro, MicroStation and others, but not PLAXIS. The PLAXIS servers listed are community projects that use PLAXIS remote scripting.
Which geotechnical programs can an AI agent drive today?
PLAXIS 2D, Itasca's FLAC, 3DEC and PFC, and GeoStudio have community MCP servers. Rocscience's agent features work only inside its own RSInsight app, and RS2, Slide2, LPILE and MIDAS GTS NX have nothing listed.
Can I trust a model an agent builds?
Treat it as a draft. Soil parameters, constitutive model choice, drainage conditions, staging and mesh all need an engineer's review, and results should be checked against hand calculations or experience.
