MIDAS GTS NX AI integrations
No MCP server or agent skill for MIDAS GTS NX is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). MIDAS GTS NX has no MCP server or agent skill yet, and MIDAS IT has announced no AI features for it. Unlike Civil NX and Gen NX, GTS NX has no API yet; MIDAS lists one on its roadmap. What it does offer is a set of documented exchange files, above all the text-based FPN neutral file and text exports of nodal results, so a first integration would most likely read and write those files rather than drive the program.
How AI connects to MIDAS GTS NX
An MCP server or skill can only do what MIDAS GTS NX lets programs do. MIDAS GTS NX exposes 2 automation interfaces:
- FPN neutral file (.fpn) (Input files): GTS NX exports and imports meshes as FPN, a neutral file that MIDAS describes as exchanging model information between programs in text format. It is shared with FEA NX, NFX and SoilWorks and read by some non-MIDAS tools; community converters already turn Gmsh meshes into FPN and FPN into FLAC3D. An agent could generate or edit FPN meshes with materials and boundary sets, then import them for analysis. Documentation
- Exports to Civil, Gen, Nastran and text results (Input files): Besides FPN, GTS NX exports models to MIDAS Civil (*.mct) and Gen (*.mgt), writes an executable Nastran input file, and saves nodal reactions, displacements and load-displacement curves as *.txt for soil-structure interaction in Gen or Civil. What MIDAS IT offers
MIDAS IT has not announced an AI assistant or MCP server for GTS NX. Its GTS NX 2026 (v1.1) webinar from October 2025 introduced an automated iteration workflow and inverse analysis, and listed an API for GTS NX with Python, Grasshopper and VBA integration as roadmap items. MIDAS's 2026 AI training covered only the Civil NX and Gen NX APIs.

What an integration for MIDAS GTS NX could do
- Generate an FPN mesh for a staged excavation or tunnel from a soil profile and geometry, with named material and boundary sets, ready to import into GTS NX.
- Read exported nodal result text files and summarise wall displacements or support reactions by construction stage.
- Pass soil spring reactions from GTS NX to a MIDAS Civil or Gen model through the *.txt nodal result export.
- Compare GTS NX results with a PLAXIS or FLAC3D model of the same problem after converting the mesh through FPN.

Is there a MIDAS GTS NX MCP server?
No, as of 4 November 2026. MIDAS IT has not released one and no community project was found. PLAXIS and ITASCA FLAC, which cover similar geotechnical analyses, already have community MCP servers.
Does GTS NX have an API?
Not yet. MIDAS lists an API for GTS NX, with Python, Grasshopper and VBA integration, as a future item on its GTS NX 2026 roadmap. Until then, GTS NX is reached through its exchange files, chiefly the text-based FPN neutral file.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
