Rocscience RS2 and Slide AI integrations

No MCP server or agent skill for Rocscience RS2 and Slide is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). No community MCP server or skill for RS2 or Slide2 is listed yet. Rocscience has built its own agent route instead: the RSInsight assistant's Agent Mode controls RS2, Slide2, RS3, RSPile, Dips and Settle3 through connectors installed in the Windows RSInsight Desktop app, with a usage quota. Rocscience does not document using those connectors from Claude or other outside clients. RS2 also has a public Python scripting library that a community server could build on.

How AI connects to Rocscience RS2 and Slide

An MCP server or skill can only do what Rocscience RS2 and Slide lets programs do. Rocscience RS2 and Slide exposes 2 automation interfaces:

  • RS2 Python scripting (RS2Scripting) (Python): RS2 has an official Python library, installed with pip install RS2Scripting, that needs RS2 11.023 or later; match the library version to your RS2 release. Each call wraps an API call to the running application. So far it can open, close, save and compute files, change most property values and stage factors, read mesh and support results and the SSR critical SRF, and add or remove queries. Object references go stale when the model reloads. Documentation
  • RocScript Editor and Slide2 (Python): RS2 ships a RocScript Editor for running scripts without setting up your own Python, and the RS2 help has a scripting overview with getting-started tutorials such as an anchored sheet pile wall. We found no public Python library for Slide2, so a Slide2 integration today would go through RSInsight or through model files. Documentation

What Rocscience offers

Rocscience's RSInsight is an AI assistant with an Ask Mode for questions and an opt-in Agent Mode that opens files, edits models, runs analyses and extracts results in RS2, RS3, RSPile, Dips, Slide2 and Settle3. Agent Mode runs through MCP connectors installed from a Connector Store in RSInsight Desktop, needs Windows 10 64-bit and a constant internet connection, and uses a quota tied to your RocPortal licences. Rocscience describes it as its first MCP-powered agent for its solvers, but does not mention use from outside AI clients.

What an integration for Rocscience RS2 and Slide could do

  • Open an RS2 project, compute it and summarise results by stage, such as maximum shear stress in joints at stage 3.
  • Run a shear strength reduction study in RS2 for a set of material strength scenarios and tabulate the critical strength reduction factor for each.
  • Rebuild a Slide2 slope section from an Excel table of layers and properties and report the factor of safety.
  • Batch-update RS2 material parameters from a spreadsheet through RS2Scripting and re-run every affected model.

Know of one, or building one?

If an MCP server or agent skill for Rocscience RS2 and Slide exists, tell us and we'll check it and list it. You can also ask for one, which helps builders see demand.

Questions

Is there an MCP server for RS2 or Slide2?

Not one you can add to Claude. Rocscience's RSInsight Agent Mode uses MCP connectors for RS2, Slide2 and other programs, but only inside RSInsight Desktop. No community server is listed.

Does RS2 have a Python API?

Yes. RS2Scripting on PyPI works with RS2 11.023 and later, and its version should match your RS2 release.

What does RSInsight Agent Mode need?

You opt in, install the Windows-only RSInsight Desktop app, sign in with your RocPortal account, install the connector for each program and keep the programs updated. It uses a separate quota from Ask Mode.

AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
