AutoCAD API Skillsby Autodesk Developer Network (ADN-DevTech)
Autodesk Developer Network skills that teach a coding agent to write AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Plant 3D .NET 10 plug-ins.
Autodesk ships an official AutoCAD and Civil 3D MCP server, but it runs only inside Autodesk Assistant: it queries the open drawing and edits Civil 3D styles and surface slope data, and outside clients such as Claude can't connect to it. Four community MCP servers fill that gap by loading into the running Windows application to work on surfaces, alignments, corridors and pipe networks, three through a .NET plug-in and one through COM. Each is live-tested on a single Civil 3D year (2025, 2026 or 2027).

Autodesk's in-app server that lets Autodesk Assistant query and select objects in your open AutoCAD or Civil 3D drawing; edits are mostly Civil 3D-only.
Autodesk's hosted, read-only server that searches Autodesk Help documentation for 110+ products; it answers questions but never opens a drawing or model.
A Civil 3D 2027 fork of Civil3D-MCP that adds live C# execution through Roslyn and reusable saved scripts.
A Civil 3D bridge whose typed writes start as dry runs, need a single-use token and are re-read from the drawing after commit.
Node.js MCP server plus a .NET plug-in that reads and edits the drawing open in Civil 3D 2026, from surfaces and corridors to pipe networks and sheets.
A Python server with 19 tools that attaches to a running Civil 3D over COM, mostly to query surfaces, alignments, profiles and corridors.
Two Spanish-language skills for the Horizun Civil 3D server: one for setup and diagnosis, one for day-to-day drawing work.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what Civil 3D lets programs do. Civil 3D exposes 2 automation interfaces:
Autodesk Assistant arrived in Civil 3D 2024 with the AutoCAD 2024.1 update as AI-guided help. It now hosts the AutoCAD and Civil 3D MCP server, which runs inside the application on Windows; in Civil 3D it adds style edits and surface slope updates (2027.1 and later) to the read and selection tools, and the September 2026 release added xref, layer and system-variable work. Separately, the Product Help MCP server gives outside agents read-only access to Civil 3D 2023–2026 help.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Autodesk Assistant, ChatGPT, ChatGPT (through OpenAI Secure MCP Tunnel), Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cline, Codex, Cursor, Microsoft Copilot and VS Code (GitHub Copilot). Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most Civil 3D integrations run on your own computer next to Civil 3D, so you need Civil 3D installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
Yes, with a catch. Autodesk's AutoCAD and Civil 3D MCP server runs inside Autodesk Assistant in Civil 3D on Windows, where it can query objects, change styles and update surface slope data. Autodesk documents Assistant as its only client, so Claude, Cursor and other outside agents need one of the four community servers listed here.
Partly. The Sacred-G and Horizun servers create alignments, profiles, assemblies, corridors and corridor surfaces in an open drawing. Horizun's grading tool builds geometric grading and a TIN, and says plainly that it is not a native Civil 3D grading object, because that object has no API.
Each pins one release. Sacred-G is validated on 2026, Horizun on 2025 (2024 and 2026 builds not yet live-tested), the unified fork on 2027 only, and the COM server names 2023 to 2026. Check the listing against your installed year before you install.
No. They rely on Civil 3D objects such as surfaces and alignments, and the unified fork states it has not been tested with plain AutoCAD. For DWG work without Civil 3D, see the AutoCAD page.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
