RAS Commander MCPby CLB Engineering (gpt-cmdr)
A read-only MCP server that answers bounded questions from HEC-RAS project and plan text files.
HEC-RAS has several community MCP servers and skills but nothing from USACE. One server computes plans headless on Windows and reads the HDF results, pyHMT2D drives 2D models through the COM interface with slash-command skills, and the RAS Commander server and plugin answer read-only questions from project text files. Check the tested version before you rely on one: 7.0.x, 6.6 and 6.7 Beta each appear, and RAS 2025 is not supported.
A read-only MCP server that answers bounded questions from HEC-RAS project and plan text files.
A Claude Code and Codex plugin with RAS and HMS Commander skills plus guarded read-only text servers.
Runs HEC-RAS 7.0 headless on Windows: inspects projects, computes plans and reads 1D and 2D HDF results.
pyHMT2D's MCP server opens, edits, runs and post-processes HEC-RAS 2D and SRH-2D projects.
Per-model SKILL.md packages with tools, checks and failure fixes for EPANET, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and MODFLOW 6.
Slash-command skills such as /hmt-open, /hmt-run and /hmt-calibrate that sequence pyHMT2D's MCP tools.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what HEC-RAS lets programs do. HEC-RAS exposes 3 automation interfaces:
USACE's Hydrologic Engineering Center publishes no MCP server, agent skill or AI assistant for HEC-RAS. Its HEC-RAS pages cover the 7.0.2 download, the 2025 beta and documentation, and say HEC gives no phone or email support to non-USACE users. The community projects listed here state that they are independent of HEC.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and Windsurf. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most HEC-RAS integrations run on your own computer next to HEC-RAS, so you need HEC-RAS installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
No. As of 4 November 2026 USACE HEC has released no MCP server or agent skill. Everything here comes from consultancies, universities and individual engineers, and the main projects say they are independent of HEC.
Yes, on a Windows machine with HEC-RAS installed. hecras-mcp runs plans through Ras.exe in the background and pyHMT2D runs 2D models through COM. The RAS Commander server can only read project text and doesn't compute.
hecras-mcp targets HEC-RAS 7.0.x. pyHMT2D was developed on 6.6 and doesn't support RAS 2025. The KISS skill validated only the steady solver of 6.7 Beta 5, run under Wine on Linux.
Partly. HEC's 7.0.2 Windows + Linux package includes Linux compute engines, but the interface and the COM controller are Windows only, so most MCP servers expect Windows.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
