What it can do

  • Inspects projects, including materials, Manning's n values and boundary conditions.
  • Edits Manning's n, inlet flow and exit water surface elevation, then runs the simulation.
  • Queries results and exports them to VTK for ParaView, and converts HEC-RAS 2D meshes to SRH-2D.
  • Runs automated Manning's n calibration and Monte Carlo uncertainty analysis.

Limitations

  • Windows only in practice, because HEC-RAS 2D and SRH-2D are Windows programs; Linux has limited testing.
  • 1D channels, hydraulic structures, sediment and water quality are not processed.
  • Controls HEC-RAS through its COM interface; a stale pywin32 cache after reinstalling HEC-RAS needs clearing.
