What it can do
- Edits .kicad_sch and .kicad_pcb files through a lossless S-expression parser and runs a geometric check on pins, overlaps and grid before saving.
- Can also edit the board open in a KiCad 10 PCB editor through the IPC API (kicad-python 0.8.0).
- Covers project setup, parts lookup, schematic edits, board staging, Freerouting layout, visual and semantic review diffs, and fab outputs for JLCPCB.
- A kicad-emsim skill runs openEMS field simulation from Gerbers in Docker.
Limitations
- ERC, rendering and fab output need kicad-cli from a native or Flatpak KiCad install.
- Docker is needed for the EM simulation skill.
