What it can do

  • Starts with a 24-tool read-only review profile; build, release and expert profiles add editing and manufacturing export when you choose them.
  • Drives ERC, DRC and exports through KiCad's own engines via kicad-cli, and live board work through the KiCad 10 IPC API; the SWIG bindings are not used.
  • Adds first-order signal-integrity, power-integrity, EMC and thermal estimates for early review.
  • Ships five KiCad skills (design review, PCB design, DRC, fabrication output, schematic review) and a Claude Code plugin manifest.
  • Also runs over Streamable HTTP, with a desktop app and web dashboard.

Limitations

  • The author states the SI/PI/EMC/thermal tools are closed-form estimates of roughly 5–10% accuracy, not a substitute for a field solver or sign-off.
  • Live GUI operations need KiCad 10 with the IPC API server enabled; without it the server works in file-backed and headless modes only.
  • The macOS desktop build isn't Apple-codesigned, so Gatekeeper may block it.
