OpenSTAAD MCP Serverby Bentley Systems
Bentley's open-source server that runs sandboxed OpenSTAAD Python against the STAAD.Pro model you have open, with eleven bundled STAAD skills.
STAAD.Pro has an official MCP server from Bentley, openstaad-mcp, which drives a running copy of STAAD.Pro 2025 or newer on Windows 11 by executing sandboxed OpenSTAAD Python. It carries eleven Bentley-written STAAD skills (geometry, loading, analysis, results, steel design and more) that the agent loads on demand. A small community bridge also exists. Everything here needs a licensed STAAD.Pro running on the same Windows machine.

Eleven SKILL.md files bundled with Bentley's OpenSTAAD server that teach an agent STAAD.Pro modelling, loading, analysis, results and steel design.
A five-tool community STAAD.Pro bridge over OpenSTAAD COM, reached through the author's autodesk-mcp gateway.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what STAAD.Pro lets programs do. STAAD.Pro exposes 1 automation interface:
Bentley publishes the STAAD.Pro MCP server itself, as open source under its BentleySystems GitHub organisation, and lists it for download on its MCP servers page alongside STAAD Foundation Advanced. The server came out of Bentley's Infrastructure AI Co-Innovation Initiative. Bentley states that processing stays on your machine and that the server sends no telemetry.

The listings here document setup for Any MCP client, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, Google Antigravity and VS Code (GitHub Copilot). Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most STAAD.Pro integrations run on your own computer next to STAAD.Pro, so you need STAAD.Pro installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
Yes. Bentley publishes openstaad-mcp under its own GitHub organisation (MIT licence) and links it from its MCP servers page. It needs STAAD.Pro 2025 or newer, running on Windows 11 or newer.
Yes. Install openstaad-mcp as a Claude Desktop extension (.mcpb) or add it to Claude Code with uvx. Open STAAD.Pro with a model first; Claude then writes OpenSTAAD Python that the server checks and runs against that model.
Eleven SKILL.md files written by Bentley, covering core setup, geometry, properties, supports, loading, analysis, results, steel design, reports, view control and error handling. The server serves them through its read_skills tool, so they are not installed separately.
Only inside directories you allow. Imports and file access are blocked in the code sandbox, and the server's CSV and XLSX input and output paths must sit within your MCP roots or configured allowed directories.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
