What it can do

Exposes five tools, the main one being execute_code, which runs agent-written Python against the OpenSTAAD API of a running STAAD.Pro instance.
Lists every running STAAD.Pro instance with its model path and version, so one agent can work on several models at once.
Serves its own STAAD skills (core, geometry, properties, supports, loading, analysis, results, steel design, reports, view and errors) through discover_api and read_skills.
Reads CSV or XLSX input and writes large result tables straight to disk, inside directories you allow, instead of passing them through the chat.

Limitations

Windows only, and STAAD.Pro must already be running with a model open.
The code sandbox blocks imports and file access, so scripts can only use the pre-injected STAAD objects.
In HTTP mode you must pass the bearer token the server prints at start-up.

Install

Download openstaad-mcp.mcpb from the GitHub Releases page, then in Claude Desktop open File > Settings > Extensions > Advanced > Install Extensions, select the file and restart Claude Desktop.
