Simulink Agentic Toolkitby MathWorks
MathWorks's Simulink tools and Model-Based Design skills, added to the MATLAB MCP Server so an agent can read, edit and test models.
MathWorks publishes the official MATLAB MCP Server, a Go binary that starts or connects to MATLAB on your machine to run code, run tests and check code, plus the MATLAB Agentic Toolkit of skills and an MCP framework for MATLAB Production Server. Community servers built on the MATLAB Engine for Python add section-by-section execution, engine pools and figure extraction. Everything needs a local, licensed MATLAB: R2021a or later for the official server, R2022b or later for most community ones.

MathWorks's own MCP server: starts or connects to MATLAB on your machine, runs and tests code and checks it with the Code Analyzer.
Publishes your own MATLAB functions as MCP tools on MATLAB Production Server, so agents call deployed code over HTTP.
MathWorks's skill groups for MATLAB and its toolboxes, installed together with the MATLAB MCP Server and wired into your agent.
A Python MATLAB server with an engine pool for several users, async long jobs, and figures returned as interactive Plotly charts.
A FastMCP server that runs MATLAB code and reads Simulink models through the MATLAB Engine, confined to one working folder.
A 43-tool MATLAB and Simulink server for VS Code agents, working in a shared MATLAB session you can watch and edit.
Runs MATLAB scripts section by section through the Python engine and lets the agent inspect variables and read figures.
Nine skills that route MATLAB and Simulink work through the official MCP server and end each task with logs and a check.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what MATLAB lets programs do. MATLAB exposes 3 automation interfaces:
MathWorks offers three things. MATLAB Copilot is a paid generative AI assistant inside the MATLAB desktop that answers questions, completes and explains code and generates tests. The MATLAB MCP Server on GitHub (v0.16.0, 30 October 2026) connects outside agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, Codex and Gemini CLI to local MATLAB. The MATLAB and Simulink Agentic Toolkits add curated skills and a single installer for both.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Amp, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, GitHub Copilot CLI, VS Code and VS Code (GitHub Copilot). Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most MATLAB integrations run on your own computer next to MATLAB, so you need MATLAB installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
Yes. MathWorks publishes the MATLAB MCP Server at github.com/matlab/matlab-mcp-server, with prebuilt binaries for Windows, Linux and macOS and a Claude Desktop bundle. It is free to download, but its licence only allows use with MathWorks products, and a server must not be shared by several users.
R2021a or later for the official server, and R2023a or later if you want it to attach to a session you already have open (run shareMATLABSession() in MATLAB). The Simulink Agentic Toolkit also needs R2023a or later.
Yes. Add the official server to Claude Code with claude mcp add --transport stdio matlab followed by the binary path, or install the .mcpb bundle in Claude Desktop. MathWorks asks you to review each tool call, since the evaluate tool runs whatever code it is given.
It collects anonymised usage data by default. Start it with --disable-telemetry=true to turn that off. The code you run stays in your local MATLAB.
MATLAB Copilot is a separately licensed assistant built into the MATLAB desktop. The MCP server works the other way round: your own AI client (Claude, Copilot, Codex, Gemini CLI) controls a local MATLAB through tools.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
