What it can do
- Connects to a MATLAB session shared with matlab.engine.shareEngine, so the agent sees the model you have open, your selected blocks and the current subsystem.
- Creates, loads and saves models, adds and connects blocks, builds subsystems and bus elements, and auto-arranges layouts.
- Runs simulations, MATLAB code, scripts and functions, and manages workspace variables.
- Finds blocks by type, name or property and highlights them in the model.
- A SIMULINK_MCP_MODE setting exposes readonly, open or full tool sets.
Limitations
- The installer is a PowerShell script and the documented client is VS Code with Copilot.
- Its bundled skills catalogue is plain-text guidance and templates; all execution goes through the server's own tools.
