What it can do
- Loads, creates, saves and closes .slx models and lists blocks by depth or type.
- Reads and sets block dialog parameters and model configuration such as solver and stop time.
- Adds library blocks, wires ports with auto-routing and deletes blocks with their lines.
- Runs a simulation, returns open figures as PNG images and extracts logged signal data.
- Uses fixed, validated tool calls only; there is no free-form code execution tool.
Limitations
- PolyForm Noncommercial licence; commercial use needs the author's permission.
- MATLAB starts on the first tool call and takes about 15–20 seconds; an invalid Simulink operation can crash the engine, which then needs a server restart.
- The README's pip install simulink-mcp command didn't resolve on PyPI at this check; install from source.
Install
git clone https://github.com/sohumsuthar/simulink-mcp.git
cd simulink-mcp
pip install .claude mcp add simulink -- python -m simulink_mcpMCP servers and skills run code on your computer. Review the source before installing.
