What it can do
- Gives the agent a routing guide (SKILL.md and a map) for which Simulink tool to use when.
- Includes patterns for building and verifying a new model, debugging an existing one, tracing connectivity and running long parameter sweeps.
- Claude Code hooks inject a reminder on Simulink keywords and block Bash calls that launch MATLAB directly; a Codex hook does the same and warns on find_system inside scripts.
Limitations
- Only useful together with the simulink-mcp server from the same repository.
- The installer that links the skill and wires the hooks is Windows PowerShell only.
Install
Run .\install.ps1 from the repository: it copies the skill to ~\.shared-skills\simulink-toolbox, links it into ~\.claude\skills\ and ~\.codex\skills\, and wires the hooks. Invoke it with /simulink-toolbox in Claude Code.MCP servers and skills run code on your computer. Review the source before installing.
