What it can do
- Installs the MATLAB MCP Server and configures supported agents automatically, from MATLAB or the command-line installer.
- Core skill groups cover writing, debugging and reviewing code, app building, data import and analysis, Python and MEX interfaces, and testing, packaging and build plans.
- Toolbox skill groups cover areas such as aerospace, control systems, code generation, signal processing, radar, RF, robotics, wireless communications and test and measurement.
- Lets you install only the skill groups you need, and call a skill by name (for example /matlab-write-tests in Claude Code).
Limitations
- MathWorks advises installing few skill groups, because agents trigger skills less reliably when many are loaded.
- Inherits the MCP server's default telemetry and its single-user licence terms; pull requests aren't accepted.
Install
setupAgenticToolkit("install")Source: github.com/matlab/matlab-agentic-toolkit#install-matlab-agentic-toolkit-from-matlab
Download agenticToolkitInstaller.mltbx from the Simulink Agentic Toolkit releases page, open it in MATLAB to install the installer add-on, then run setupAgenticToolkit("install"). For Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI or Codex you can use the command-line Agentic Toolkit Installer instead.Source: github.com/matlab/matlab-agentic-toolkit#get-started-with-matlab-agentic-toolkit
