RhinoAI (Rhino MCP Platform)by Robert McNeel & Associates
McNeel's Rhino plugin that turns a running Rhino and Grasshopper into an MCP server, with a Claude Desktop connector.
McNeel publishes its own Rhino MCP server, RhinoAI, as a beta plugin for Rhino 8 on Windows and Mac, with a Claude Desktop connector and a chat panel inside Rhino. Community servers add Grasshopper canvas control, architectural massing tools and intent checks, and they all drive a running, licensed Rhino through a local plugin or Grasshopper component. Skills cover RhinoCommon, GhPython and Grasshopper patterns. Most target Rhino 8; one older Grasshopper bridge supports Rhino 7.

A PyPI server and Rhino 8 package that let an agent model geometry, read the document and wire Grasshopper canvases.
A Python server and Revit 2024–2027 add-in where every model change waits for a plan you approve in a Revit panel.
An architect-built Rhino 8 server with 128 tools for massing, plans and sections that asserts geometry intent as it models.
A Grasshopper component that serves MCP over local HTTP, so an agent can build canvases, bake geometry and render in Rhino.
An early Grasshopper bridge: a GH_MCP component with a TCP server plus a Python MCP bridge and a component knowledge base.
A Claude skill that writes Grasshopper and Rhino C# scripts to read SOFiSTiK .cdb geometry, results and tendons.
A Claude Code plugin of 18 computational-design skills covering Grasshopper patterns, RhinoCommon, the Revit API and Dynamo.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what Rhino 3D & Grasshopper lets programs do. Rhino 3D & Grasshopper exposes 3 automation interfaces:
McNeel's RhinoAI is a Rhino BETA feature with two parts: an in-Rhino chat panel opened with the AI command, which works with Claude and Codex, and the RhinoMCP server started with MCPConnect. Rhino 8 users install it as the Rhino-MCP-Platform package. The code is MIT-licensed on McNeel's GitHub, and McNeel's forum calls the integration a beginning rather than a finished feature.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cline, Codex, Cursor, Gemini Antigravity, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Local models (LM Studio), Ollama, VS Code, VS Code (GitHub Copilot) and claude.ai. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most Rhino 3D & Grasshopper integrations run on your own computer next to Rhino 3D & Grasshopper, so you need Rhino 3D & Grasshopper installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
Yes. RhinoAI, listed in Rhino's Package Manager as Rhino-MCP-Platform, comes from McNeel's own GitHub organisation and is a beta feature. Run MCPConnect in Rhino to start it, or install the Claude Desktop connector, which can install the plugin for you.
Yes. RhinoAI, RhinoMCP and Cordyceps all let Claude place and wire Grasshopper components and set slider values on an open canvas. Grasshopper has to be open inside a running Rhino on the same machine.
Some do. RhinoAI, RhinoMCP and Cordyceps document macOS as well as Windows. The rhino-architect server and the older Grasshopper MCP Bridge describe Windows setup only.
Rhino 8 for nearly everything listed here; Cordyceps needs 8.21 or later. RhinoAI is also bundled with Rhino BETA. Only the 2025 Grasshopper MCP Bridge states support for Rhino 7.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
