OpenSeesPy & OPSVIS Documentation MCP Serverby Prashant Kote
An offline search server over the OpenSeesPy and OPSVIS docs, returning command signatures and code examples to your agent.
OpenSees has two small community MCP servers and a Spanish skill pack. One server runs OpenSeesPy inside its own Python process so an agent can build models from chat; another only searches the OpenSeesPy and OPSVIS documentation offline. The OpenSees Studio project adds 35 SKILL.md files, including Tcl-to-OpenSeesPy parity and GiD conversion. None needs a licence, but all are early: one server has no documented tool list yet.

A minimal MCP server that builds OpenSeesPy models from chat; the README does not yet list its tools.
35 Spanish SKILL.md files from OpenSees Studio on FEM, seismic codes and Tcl-to-OpenSeesPy and GiD conversion.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what OpenSees lets programs do. OpenSees exposes 2 automation interfaces:
OpenSees is an open-source framework from UC Berkeley and PEER rather than a commercial product, and we found no AI assistant or MCP server announced by the project. The servers and skills listed here are independent community work, and none comes from the OpenSees developers.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Any client that reads SKILL.md, Claude, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Gemini and Google Antigravity. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most OpenSees integrations run on your own computer next to OpenSees, so you need OpenSees installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
Yes, two community ones. pellegrino-research-group/opensees-mcp builds OpenSeesPy models, and pkotenetwork/opensees-mcp searches OpenSeesPy and OPSVIS documentation. Neither comes from the OpenSees developers.
Yes. Because OpenSeesPy is a Python package, an MCP server can import it and run the model directly; you don't need a licence or a running application, only a Python environment where openseespy installs.
OpenSees Studio includes an opensees-tcl-python-parity skill and a GiD conversion skill, both in Spanish, as part of a 35-skill pack that also covers FEM theory and seismic codes.
pkotenetwork/opensees-mcp. It searches a pre-built index of the OpenSeesPy and OPSVIS docs offline and returns command signatures and examples, which helps an agent write correct OpenSeesPy code without running anything.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
