What it can do

  • Drives SOLIDWORKS through its COM API to sketch, extrude, mate components and set materials, then reads back volume, mass and interference so the agent can check its own result.
  • Generates drawing packages from one call, including views, dimensions, GD&T frames, BOM tables and a PDF.
  • Includes lookup tools that search the SOLIDWORKS API help for the release you name with --year.
  • Can log every tool call to a local SQLite file and export the session as a runnable Python script.
  • A guided setup command detects SOLIDWORKS and installed MCP clients and writes their configs.

Limitations

  • Driving SOLIDWORKS needs Windows 10 or 11; Linux and WSL run only the mock mode, docs and tests.
  • Only SOLIDWORKS 2026 has been tested by the author.
  • Mock-mode output is simulated and not engineering data.
