COMSOL MCP Server (COMSOL_Multiphysics_MCP)by wjc9011
Drives COMSOL through the MPh library with 100+ tools for geometry, physics, mesh, studies and results, plus a PDF search.
Three community MCP servers drive COMSOL Multiphysics through its Java API, two of them via the MPh Python library. The largest has over 100 tools including electrochemistry interfaces; another attaches to a COMSOL server so you watch changes live in COMSOL Desktop; the third opens, edits, solves and exports existing .mph models, with a motor NVH skill. All need a licensed install, and COMSOL itself offers only an in-app chatbot, not an MCP server.
Drives COMSOL through the MPh library with 100+ tools for geometry, physics, mesh, studies and results, plus a PDF search.
Opens an existing .mph through MPh, changes parameters, solves, exports plots and tables and saves a copy, with a Java fallback.
Attaches to a running COMSOL Multiphysics Server so the agent and COMSOL Desktop edit the same locked model, with 50 tools.
A checkpointed COMSOL skill for permanent-magnet motor noise and vibration, from magnetics to modes, acoustics and Campbell sweeps.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what COMSOL Multiphysics lets programs do. COMSOL Multiphysics exposes 3 automation interfaces:
COMSOL 6.3 added a Chatbot window, on Windows only, that connects to an AI provider using your own API key (OpenAI-compatible models, including cloud and on-premise ones) to generate or debug COMSOL API code, which you can run in the Java Shell window. From 6.4 it is installed by default but not connected. COMSOL has not released an MCP server.

Taken from the listings' own documentation. Check each listing for exactly what it supports.
The listings here document setup for Claude Desktop, Codex and opencode. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most COMSOL Multiphysics integrations run on your own computer next to COMSOL Multiphysics, so you need COMSOL Multiphysics installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
No. As of 4 November 2026 COMSOL offers a Chatbot window inside COMSOL Multiphysics but no MCP server; all three servers listed here are community projects.
Yes, with a licensed COMSOL install. The wjc9011 and CAE Agent Hub servers start a COMSOL session through MPh; the Ching-Chiang server attaches to a COMSOL Multiphysics Server you start yourself.
The Chatbot window sends your prompt to a model you configure and returns API code for you to run. An MCP server lets an outside client such as Claude call COMSOL operations directly.
The wjc9011 server states COMSOL 5.x or 6.x and checked its electrochemistry types against 6.3; the other two give example paths for 6.2 and 6.3 without a stated version range.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
