Simcenter 3D AI integrations

No MCP server or agent skill for Simcenter 3D is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). No MCP server or agent skill drives Simcenter 3D yet. Its NX Open API (Python, C# and other languages) and recorded journals make automation possible, and the solver it usually runs, Simcenter Nastran, reads decks that the pyNastran file reader listed under Nastran can inspect. The FEMis governance skill gives worked guidance for Simcenter runs without driving the software.

How AI connects to Simcenter 3D

An MCP server or skill can only do what Simcenter 3D lets programs do. Simcenter 3D exposes 2 automation interfaces:

  • NX Open (Python, C# and other languages) (Python): NX Open is the API embedded in both NX and Simcenter 3D. Every journal starts from an NXOpen.Session object and can create solutions and subcases, apply loads and boundary conditions, solve and post-process. Siemens' Engineering Desktop guide describes recording a CAE process and wrapping it in scripts and dialog boxes so colleagues can reuse it, which is the pattern an MCP server would follow. Documentation
  • Recorded journals (Other): Simcenter 3D can record what you do in the interface as a journal and play it back. Recording a pre-processing sequence once, then editing the generated code, is the usual way to learn which NX Open calls a task needs before scripting it fully.

What Siemens offers

Siemens' June 2026 release lists Simcenter 3D 2606 updates to the engineering desktop, design exploration, multistep nonlinear analysis and integrated multiphysics, with no AI assistant named for Simcenter 3D. Siemens does ship an NX copilot and Simcenter PhysicsAI, and runs a public MCP server for searching its product information, but none of these lets an outside AI client control Simcenter 3D.

What an integration for Simcenter 3D could do

  • Record a meshing and boundary-condition sequence as a journal, then let an agent turn it into a reusable NX Open script with parameters.
  • Create a linear statics solution with several subcases from a load-case table and solve it with Simcenter Nastran.
  • Export results for each subcase to CSV and flag elements above an allowable stress.
  • Run a design-exploration loop that changes a thickness, re-solves and records mass and peak stress.

Know of one, or building one?

If an MCP server or agent skill for Simcenter 3D exists, tell us and we'll check it and list it. You can also ask for one, which helps builders see demand.

Questions

Is there a Simcenter 3D MCP server?

No, as of 4 November 2026. Siemens hasn't published one and no community project targets Simcenter 3D. Its public MCP server only searches Siemens content.

Can I automate Simcenter 3D with Python?

Yes. NX Open supports Python journals that you can record, edit and replay, and an AI assistant can help write them, but you run them yourself in Simcenter 3D.

AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
