Windchill AI Assistant MCP Serverby PTC
Part of PTC's Windchill AI Assistant plugin; answers from help articles and indexed vault documents only.
PTC ships an official MCP server inside the Windchill AI Assistant plugin, but it answers questions from help articles and indexed vault documents and does not touch parts, BOMs or change objects. For PLM data you need a community server built on Windchill REST Services: one covers parts, documents, change and workflow on Windchill 13.0.2, and another reads parts and BOMs alongside Creo. All of them sign in as a Windchill user and respect that user's permissions.

A Docker-ready Windchill 13.0.2 server with 64+ tools for parts, documents, change, workflow and projects.
One TypeScript server that reads Windchill parts, BOMs and documents and opens and exports Creo models.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what Windchill lets programs do. Windchill exposes 1 automation interface:
PTC's Windchill AI Assistant plugin answers natural-language questions and summarises documents, with a choice of sources: your organisation's vault documents, PTC's help and Technical Support content, or both. The plugin includes an MCP server with six tools for those answers and searches, so Claude Desktop or VS Code can use it. In Windchill SaaS, document indexing and chat consume AI credits.

The listings here document setup for ChatGPT Desktop, Claude Desktop and VS Code. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most Windchill integrations run on your own computer next to Windchill, so you need Windchill installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
Yes, as part of the Windchill AI Assistant plugin. Its endpoint is https://<windchill-host>/Windchill/WCPlugins/wcaiassistant/mcp, and its tools answer from help content and vault documents only, so it cannot query or change parts, BOMs or workflows.
Not through PTC's MCP server. Community servers built on Windchill REST Services can search parts and read BOMs; one targets Windchill 13.0.2.x and also writes documents and change requests.
Not always. PTC notes that some clients, including Claude Desktop and VS Code, cannot complete the Windchill SSO flow directly, and suggests a client extension, a local reverse proxy or a custom client. Basic authentication works where your site allows it.
Yes, if they are indexed in the AI Assistant's document vault and the signed-in user may read them. Its tools can search that vault, answer questions from it and summarise a document by its object identifier, alongside answers drawn from PTC's help and support content.
