OrcaFlex AI integrations

No MCP server or agent skill for OrcaFlex is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). No MCP server or installable agent skill for OrcaFlex was found as of November 2026, and Orcina has announced no AI assistant. OrcaFlex is still one of the easiest offshore tools to connect: the OrcFxAPI Python package on PyPI can build models, run statics and dynamics and pull results, and models can be written as plain-text data files. Any integration must run on a Windows machine with OrcaFlex installed and licensed.

How AI connects to OrcaFlex

An MCP server or skill can only do what OrcaFlex lets programs do. OrcaFlex exposes 2 automation interfaces:

  • OrcFxAPI (Python, C, C++, C#, Delphi, MATLAB) (Python): OrcFxAPI is OrcaFlex's low-level programming interface, delivered as a Windows DLL in 32 and 64-bit versions, with bindings for C, C++, C#, Delphi, MATLAB and Python. The Python binding is on PyPI as OrcFxAPI (11.6.3 at this check, Python 3.9 or later, Windows only). Orcina's documentation says the DLL only works on a computer where OrcaFlex is installed, because it is protected by the same security module, so a server built on it inherits that licence check. Documentation
  • Text data files (Input files): OrcaFlex models can be written as human-readable text data files in which you declare stages, lines, sections and other objects and leave everything else at defaults. They can be edited in any text editor or inside the OrcaFlex interface. For an agent this is the safest way to propose a model change, because a diff of the text file shows exactly what moved. What Orcina offers

Orcina's OrcaFlex product page talks about using OrcaFlex as a library for automation and third-party integration, but mentions no AI assistant, machine-learning feature or MCP server as of 4 November 2026. Searches for an OrcaFlex MCP server return only unrelated projects that share the "Orca" name.

What an integration for OrcaFlex could do

  • Build a riser, mooring or cable-lay model from a description, writing it as a text data file you can review before OrcaFlex loads it.
  • Run statics and a dynamic simulation for each sea state in a load-case matrix through OrcFxAPI, then collect maximum tensions, curvature and clearance per case.
  • Extract range graphs and time histories from finished .sim files and summarise them against allowable values you provide.
  • Check a model before a long run by listing line types, segment lengths, vessel RAO sources and environment settings for each object.
  • Set up line lengths or target tensions iteratively by calling statics in a loop until the configuration converges.

Know of one, or building one?

If an MCP server or agent skill for OrcaFlex exists, tell us and we'll check it and list it. You can also ask for one, which helps builders see demand.

Questions

Is there an OrcaFlex MCP server?

No public one as of 4 November 2026. GitHub hits for "Orca MCP" are unrelated products. The OrcFxAPI Python package is the obvious base for building one.

Can Claude control OrcaFlex?

Not out of the box. A local MCP server wrapping OrcFxAPI could, on the same Windows machine as a licensed OrcaFlex installation, because the API DLL uses OrcaFlex's own licence protection.

Does OrcFxAPI work on Linux or in the cloud?

The PyPI package is classified for Microsoft Windows only, and the API needs an OrcaFlex installation on the same computer, so plan for Windows hosts.

AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
