WAMIT AI integrations

No MCP server or agent skill for WAMIT is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). Nothing on Tresca connects an AI agent to WAMIT, and WAMIT, Inc. has announced no AI features. WAMIT is a batch program driven entirely by text files, a geometry file plus potential and force control files and configuration files, which makes it a good fit for a files-only MCP server or skill that writes inputs, launches runs and parses the output files. Version 7 runs on Windows or Linux.

How AI connects to WAMIT

An MCP server or skill can only do what WAMIT lets programs do. WAMIT exposes 2 automation interfaces:

  • Input and control files (Input files): The WAMIT V7 manual defines each run through a geometric data file (GDF) for the panelled body, a potential control file (.POT), a force control file (.FRC) and configuration files, with FNAMES.WAM listing the files for a run. Bodies can be described by low-order panels or by the higher-order method, including MultiSurf geometry. All inputs are plain text, so an agent can generate a frequency and heading sweep and check it before WAMIT starts. Documentation
  • User-modifiable DLLs (Other): The manual explains how to modify GEOMXACT.DLL to define exact geometry for the higher-order method and how to use NEWMODS.DLL for user modifications. The distribution also includes F2T, a utility that converts first-order frequency-domain results to time-domain impulse response functions for use in time-domain codes. Documentation

What WAMIT offers

WAMIT, Inc.'s website covers Version 7 features, licensing, the user manuals and a demonstration version, with no mention of an AI assistant, machine learning or an MCP server as of 4 November 2026. Community WAMIT code on GitHub consists of output readers and API wrappers rather than agent integrations.

What an integration for WAMIT could do

  • Write a GDF panel model for a simple barge or cylinder from its dimensions and check panel orientation and the waterline before a run.
  • Generate .POT and .FRC files for a sweep of wave periods and headings, run WAMIT in batch and collect added mass, damping and exciting forces.
  • Parse WAMIT output files into tables of RAOs and mean drift forces, and convert them for a mooring or riser tool such as OrcaFlex.
  • Compare two WAMIT runs with different panel densities to show whether the hydrodynamic coefficients have converged.

Know of one, or building one?

If an MCP server or agent skill for WAMIT exists, tell us and we'll check it and list it. You can also ask for one, which helps builders see demand.

Questions

Is there a WAMIT MCP server?

No. Nothing was found on 4 November 2026. Because WAMIT is driven by text input and writes text output, a files-only server or a skill would not need any WAMIT API.

Does WAMIT run on Linux?

Yes. WAMIT, Inc. says Version 7 is available in separate versions for Windows and Linux.

AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
