CAESAR II AI integrations

No MCP server or agent skill for CAESAR II is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). No MCP server or agent skill targets CAESAR II yet. The program, now sold by Octave as Aspect Pipe Stress, has no public scripting API; integrations work through files instead: the .cii neutral file, PCF and Data Matrix imports, and ODBC or database exports of results. That makes a file-based skill or server the realistic route, working alongside plant design tools such as AVEVA E3D and AutoCAD Plant 3D that already have MCP servers.

How AI connects to CAESAR II

An MCP server or skill can only do what CAESAR II lets programs do. CAESAR II exposes 3 automation interfaces:

  • CAESAR II neutral file (.cii) (Input files): The Neutral File Generator converts a CAESAR II job to and from a .cii file, the format meant for passing models to other programs. Plant design tools write it too; AVEVA E3D, for example, documents creating a CAESAR II neutral file from a pipe. An agent that understood the format could generate or edit a .cii file from a line list and hand it to CAESAR II for the run, without driving the GUI. Documentation
  • PCF and Data Matrix imports (Input files): CAESAR II imports piping component files (PCF), the isometric piping format written by plant design tools, and a Data Matrix text format with one line per element. The integration help also lists Smart 3D .vue import and force-spectrum imports from surge programs such as AFT Impulse and PIPENET, which matter for water-hammer load cases. Documentation
  • ODBC and database export of results (Other): Output can be written to an ODBC-compliant project database, and input and results can be exported to Access, text or XML. Reading those tables is the practical way for an agent to check code stress ratios, support loads and nozzle loads after a run. Documentation

What Octave (formerly Hexagon PPM) offers

Octave, the company spun out of Hexagon's plant software business in 2026, sells CAESAR II as Aspect Pipe Stress. Its product page mentions no AI features. Octave's AI Assistant release notes describe an assistant embedded in some Octave products and say not every capability is available in every product; CAESAR II isn't named. No MCP server for CAESAR II was found as of this check.

What an integration for CAESAR II could do

  • Build a piping stress model from a line list by writing a .cii neutral file with nodes, pipe properties, operating temperatures and pressures, and restraint types.
  • Convert a PCF exported from AVEVA E3D, Smart 3D or AutoCAD Plant 3D into a model, then check the imported restraints and anchors before anyone runs it.
  • Set up the standard sustained, expansion, operating and occasional load cases for the piping code in use and flag missing ones.
  • Read results from the ODBC or XML export and list overstressed nodes, high support loads and nozzle loads to send to the equipment vendor.
  • Compare two revisions of a .cii file and summarise what changed in geometry, loads or supports.

Know of one, or building one?

If an MCP server or agent skill for CAESAR II exists, tell us and we'll check it and list it. You can also ask for one, which helps builders see demand.

Questions

Is there a CAESAR II MCP server?

Not as of 4 November 2026, from Octave or the community. Some general engineering skill collections mention CAESAR II in piping stress checklists, but none reads or writes its files.

Can Claude run a CAESAR II analysis?

Not directly, because CAESAR II has no public automation API. An agent can prepare and check the input as a .cii neutral or PCF file and read exported results, while an engineer runs the analysis.

Is CAESAR II still called CAESAR II?

Octave now markets it as Aspect Pipe Stress, while its documentation still uses the CAESAR II name, with version 15.1 the latest user guide.

AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
