What it can do

  • Builds and edits flowsheets in your own Aspen Plus, from components and property methods to reactions, blocks and streams, then runs them and reads results.
  • Checks what a case still needs before a run, explains failed runs and warnings, and keeps fixes that worked on your machine.
  • Runs single- or multi-objective optimisation through one tool with nine methods, including NSGA-II, PSO, SLSQP and Bayesian methods, plus pinch analysis.
  • The Aspen Workbench window shows each change with its reason, lets you undo or restore, and in review mode holds the agent's changes until you approve them.
  • The Claude Code plugin adds skills for workflow, error troubleshooting and setup checks (/aspen-doctor).

Limitations

  • Windows only, with your own licensed Aspen Plus; setup downloads about 200 MB.
  • The plugin pins one release and doesn't update itself; other clients need the tag changed by hand.
  • The README doesn't name the Aspen Plus versions supported.
