What it can do

  • Adds model health checks, clash detection, batch edits and PDF, DWG, IFC and CSV export to the original revit-mcp tool set.
  • Resolves categories through BuiltInCategory, so it works with Revit in languages other than English.
  • Includes a dockable chat panel inside Revit that calls the Anthropic API directly with your own API key.
  • A PowerShell script detects your Revit versions, downloads the matching release and can configure Claude Desktop.

Limitations

  • The add-in listens on localhost port 8080 and won't start if that port is taken.
  • Works on the active document only, and AI edits aren't grouped into one undo step.
  • Parameter names must match the Revit UI language.
  • The README's npm package name is the same one the mcp-servers-for-revit monorepo publishes.
