What it can do
- Meant for a flowsheet you lay out in the GUI; it then changes block and stream inputs, runs sensitivity sweeps, reruns the case and reads stream and block results.
- Can also add and connect blocks and streams, add components, switch the property method and set up power-law, LHHW and equilibrium reaction sets.
- Has RadFrac tools for stages, pressure profile, condenser and reboiler type, feed and product stages, and side duties, plus tear-stream estimates and FSplit fractions.
- Scans for unfilled inputs, reads block convergence status and searches a built-in knowledge base of convergence fixes; ships parameter notes for 70 block types.
Limitations
- Windows only, through Aspen's COM interface; the README is written in Chinese.
- Holds a single Aspen session; restarting the MCP client loses the open case.
- The README warns that some COM errors leave Aspen in a bad state and need the file closed and reopened, and that reaction coefficient tables sometimes need filling by hand.
