What it can do
- Reads PLC blocks, PLC data types and tag tables (as SimaticML XML, or as source text for SCL blocks, global DBs and UDTs) and the cross-references of any block, tag or folder.
- Writes PLC software in batches of up to 50 operations: block and type content, blocks, groups, tag tables, tags and user constants, with a content hash that rejects edits to a block changed since it was read.
- Reads hardware configuration with I/O addresses matched to PLC tags, searches the hardware catalogue, adds devices and edits subnets and PROFINET settings.
- Inspects and edits WinCC Unified HMI tag tables, tags and alarms, works with Version Control Interface workspaces, and compiles a PLC or block and returns compiler messages.
- Three access modes: read-only (8 tools), read-write (19 tools, one confirmation per project lifecycle call) and full; every write is logged to an audit file.
Limitations
- Windows only, TIA Portal V21 only, and your Windows user must be in the Siemens TIA Openness group.
- Batch writes stop at the first failure without rolling back earlier items, so re-read before retrying.
- No PLC run/stop or download; Classic WinCC devices are listed but not read.
