What it can do
- Opens .xpr projects, runs synthesis, implementation and bitstream generation, and checks the run's real status and progress.
- Reads WNS, TNS, WHS and THS, critical paths, utilisation and ERROR or CRITICAL WARNING messages.
- Controls XSim simulation, queries hierarchy, ports, nets and cells, and runs arbitrary Tcl.
- Writes long reports to disk and returns them in sections; a doctor command checks the Vivado path, Tcl session and Unicode round trip.
Limitations
- The PyPI name vivado-mcp belongs to a different project; this one installs as vivado-mcp-native.
- The README doesn't state which Vivado versions were tested.
- Python 3.10 to 3.12 only.
