PowerMCPby Power-Agent
One Python package with separate MCP servers for pandapower, PyPSA, OpenDSS, PowerWorld, PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD and more.
Two community MCP servers drive PSCAD on Windows through Manitoba Hydro International's Python Automation Library (mhi.pscad): the PSCAD server inside PowerMCP and a Copilot CLI fork that adds canvas editing, so the agent can place and wire components as well as run cases. Both attach to a licensed, installed PSCAD. MHI has announced no AI assistant or MCP server for PSCAD.

Drives a live PSCAD session from GitHub Copilot CLI, including placing, wiring and moving components on the canvas.
Listings are sorted by origin, then by recent activity. GitHub data is refreshed nightly. Nothing here is ranked.
An MCP server or skill can only do what PSCAD lets programs do. PSCAD exposes 2 automation interfaces:
MHI's PSCAD news page lists PSCAD 5.1.0 (March 2026) and Enerplot 1.1.1 (September 2026) as the latest releases, and none of the items mention an AI assistant, an LLM feature or MCP. The vendor offers Python automation through the Automation Library, and the AI integrations that exist are community projects built on it.

The listings here document setup for Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex CLI, Cursor and GitHub Copilot CLI. Install steps, copied from each project's own documentation, are on each listing's page. Most PSCAD integrations run on your own computer next to PSCAD, so you need PSCAD installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
No. Manitoba Hydro International's recent PSCAD news covers releases such as PSCAD 5.1.0 but no AI or MCP offer. The two listed servers are community projects built on MHI's Automation Library.
The PowerMCP server runs and edits existing projects. The Copilot CLI fork adds canvas tools to create, place, wire and move components, so it can build circuits too.
Not for live automation. Both servers need Windows with PSCAD installed; their unit tests mock PSCAD and run elsewhere, but a real run needs the Windows install.
PowerMCP's PSCAD server wraps every call in a 30-second watchdog and checks that PSCAD.exe is still running, so a modal dialog returns an error instead of freezing the chat. A repair_connection tool resets the link.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
