What it can do
- Has the agent plan the blocks, compounds and property package first, and ask for any missing feed, pump, exchanger or column specification instead of inventing one.
- Gives the tool order and port numbers for the `dwsim_*` tools of DWSIM 10's MCP server, including workarounds such as setting feed flow in a separate call after the composition.
- Runs the flowsheet check and degrees-of-freedom check before solving, then confirms mass balance and plausible temperatures and reports a stream table and key unit results.
- Saves the case as a `.dwxmz` file with a PNG of the diagram, and covers what-if comparisons through scenario snapshots.
Limitations
- Needs the DWSIM 10 MCP server (`dwsim-mcp`), which the repository's dev container includes; outside it you install the server's Linux .deb from the DWSIM 10 releases.
- Save paths assume the dev container's `/workspace` folder.
- Sits in a repository of DWSIM automation exercises, not a standalone skill package.

Open the repository in its dev container (or install the dwsim-mcp .deb from the DWSIM 10 releases), start Claude Code in the repository and approve the project's dwsim server; the skill in .claude/skills/build-flowsheet/SKILL.md is picked up from the project.Source: github.com/virajdesai0309/DWSim-Automation-Repo#-build-flowsheets-by-asking-claude-code
