What it can do
- Treats any solver error, poor mass balance closure (overall and per component) or an unconverged recycle tear stream as disqualifying.
- Flags cubic equations of state used on water with hydrocarbons, alcohols, glycols, amines, acids or azeotropes, and points to NRTL, UNIQUAC or UNIFAC for the liquid phase.
- Checks physical plausibility (runaway temperatures, streams close to a component's melting point, vapour fractions, negative flows, pressure profile) and asks for an independent cross-check such as a Fenske-Underwood-Gilliland shortcut.
- Has the agent report each check as pass, fail or not applicable, with the number behind it.
Limitations
- Not mentioned in the repository README; it sits in .claude/skills/dwsim-validation inside the dwsim-mcp server repository.
- Refers to tool names such as `solve` and `configure_column`, so it is written for that server.
