What it can do
- openvsp.inspect describes a .vsp3 geometry without changing it.
- openvsp.modify applies OpenVSP script commands such as FindGeom, GetParm and SetParmVal and keeps the generated .vspscript for repeatability.
- openvsp.run_vspaero applies edits and then runs VSPAero, returning the .adb result path.
- Also offers the same operations as a FastAPI REST service and a ToolHive container recipe.
Limitations
- Last updated in November 2025 and tested only against OpenVSP 3.46.0.
- The README's uvx openvsp-mcp command assumes a PyPI package that wasn't published at this check; install from the Git URL.
- Edits are raw OpenVSP script lines, so the agent needs to know the component and parameter names.
