What it can do

  • A Python library over DWSIM's .NET automation interface (through pythonnet) for flowsheets, flash calculations, unit operations, the compound database and Excel, CSV or HTML reports, without the DWSIM GUI.
  • A `dwsim-expert` agent, a skill and the slash commands `/dwsim`, `/dwsim-flash` and `/dwsim-props` so Claude Code writes and runs simulation scripts from a plain-language request.
  • Includes property package selection guidance, for example NRTL or UNIQUAC for alcohol-water and Peng-Robinson for light hydrocarbons.
  • The agent and commands are plain Markdown, so they can be copied into your user-level Claude Code folders or pasted as a system prompt elsewhere.

Limitations

  • Not an MCP server; Claude Code runs Python scripts against the library instead.
  • The SKILL.md has no name or description header, so Claude Code may not pick it up as a skill on its own; the agent and slash commands are the main entry points.
  • On Linux you may need the Mono runtime before installing pythonnet.
  • The quick start changes into `dwsim-automation`, but the clone creates a `dwsim-claude-integration` folder; use that name instead.
