What it can do
- Opens a DWG or DXF from an allowed folder and indexes it once, then answers queries by handle, type, layer, block, layout or property.
- Describes the readable and writable properties of each object type.
- Renders model space, paper-space layouts or a chosen region to PNG or SVG.
Limitations
- Never saves; property changes stay in memory and are discarded when the file closes.
- Rendering covers common 2D geometry and text and reports unsupported entity types.
- Clients without MCP roots, such as Codex, need DWG_MCP_ALLOWED_ROOTS set.
