What it can do
- Groups selected text fragments into sentences, translates and rewrites them in the drawing with a Unicode-capable style and adjusted height, as one undo step.
- Talks to an add-in inside AutoCAD through the AutoCAD .NET API, over a named pipe on 2025–2027 or local TCP on 2022–2024.
- Runs C# against the drawing through dwg_send_code, which you can switch off, and offers a read-only mode that strips write tools.
- Binds to one tested AutoCAD process and drawing before allowing writes, so edits don't land in the wrong session.
Limitations
- Windows only; you install a version-specific plug-in bundle for each AutoCAD year.
- The NuGet package installs only the gateway; plug-ins come from the release ZIP.
- AutoLISP execution is registered but refused in this build.
Install
Download the client setup ZIP from GitHub Releases, verify its checksum, then run install.ps1 with the AutoCAD years you want (for example -Years 2024). It installs the plug-in bundle and the server.dotnet tool install --global Bimwright.Dwg.Server --version 2.1.2MCP servers and skills run code on your computer. Review the source before installing.
