What it can do
- Runs inside the Fusion desktop app once you tick the MCP server option under Preferences > General > API, and listens on http://127.0.0.1:27182/mcp by default.
- Lets the client create and modify geometry, run commands and inspect the active document in real time.
- Is listed in Claude Desktop's connector directory as "Autodesk Fusion", so no URL needs typing there.
- Tools are discovered at connection time and may change between Fusion releases.
Limitations
- Local only, with no authentication and no remote connections; Fusion must stay open with a document open.
- Does not work with the Fusion web client.
