What it can do

  • Splits the work between a stdio MCP server and a Fusion add-in that runs API calls on Fusion's main thread over a local TCP socket (port 9876).
  • Covers sketching, features such as threads, body operations, direct primitives and scene queries, and checks whether a design is in parametric or direct mode.
  • Can run the MCP server on one machine and Fusion on another on the same network by changing the bind and connect addresses.

Limitations

  • Beta; tools and behaviour may change between releases.
  • The add-in must be installed and started in Fusion (Shift+S, Add-Ins) before the server can connect.

Install

claude mcp add fusion360 -- uvx fusion360-mcp-server --mode socket
