PowerMCPby Power-Agent
One Python package with separate MCP servers for pandapower, PyPSA, OpenDSS, PowerWorld, PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD and more.
PowerWorld Simulator is reached through PowerMCP, whose PowerWorld server connects to a running, licensed Simulator with the SimAuto COM add-on via the Easy SimAuto (ESA) Python package. It has 14 tools for power flow, N-1 and N-2 contingencies and sensitivity matrices, which makes it one of PowerMCP's deeper wrappers. A PowerSkills skill sets the order of work. Windows only, and PowerWorld publishes no AI or MCP offer of its own.

An MCP server or skill can only do what PowerWorld Simulator lets programs do. PowerWorld Simulator exposes 2 automation interfaces:
PowerWorld's SimAuto product page describes COM automation for languages such as Visual C++, Delphi and Visual Basic and doesn't mention AI, and no PowerWorld announcement of an assistant or MCP server turned up. The AI route today is the community PowerMCP server, which is not a PowerWorld product.

Most PowerWorld Simulator integrations run on your own computer next to PowerWorld Simulator, so you need PowerWorld Simulator installed and licensed on the same machine unless the listing says otherwise.
No. PowerWorld's automation offer is the SimAuto COM add-on, and it has announced no AI features. PowerMCP's PowerWorld server is a community project.
Windows, a licensed Simulator with SimAuto, and PowerMCP installed with its powerworld extra, which also installs numba for ESA. Start Simulator first; the server finds it over COM.
Yes. PowerMCP's analyze_contingencies tool runs N-1 or N-2 analysis and returns the violations, and the project's demo video shows an LLM writing a contingency report from it.
Yes. The PowerMCP server attaches through ESA to a Simulator instance that is already running and licensed; it doesn't start Simulator itself. Open Simulator first, then the case through the open_case tool.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
