ETAP AI integrations
No MCP server or agent skill for ETAP is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). No MCP server or agent skill for ETAP is known, and PowerMCP doesn't cover it. ETAP's own AI is the Electric AI Copilot and AI Auto-Complete built into ETAP 2026, which work inside the ETAP modelling environment rather than with outside AI clients. The likely route for an integration is etapPy, ETAP's Python API, which can run studies against local or remote ETAP instances.
How AI connects to ETAP
An MCP server or skill can only do what ETAP lets programs do. ETAP exposes 1 automation interface:
- etapPy (ETAP-Python API and IDE) (Python): etapPy runs Python scripts against ETAP instances on the same machine or elsewhere on the network, and can spread simulations over several ETAP machines. Scripts can read bus and element names, configurations, revisions and one-line diagram XML, and automate any study defined in the Scenario Wizard, including load flow, short circuit, motor starting, transient stability and harmonics. ETAP ships a built-in Python IDE, and Visual Studio or PyCharm also work. The API reference itself isn't public on the product page. Documentation
What ETAP offers
ETAP 2026, announced on 21 May 2026, adds a private AI Copilot and embedded AI Auto-Complete. The Copilot answers natural-language questions about system data, generates diagrams and reports and suggests design changes; Auto-Complete proposes components and connections on the one-line diagram. The announcement mentions no API, agent or MCP access, so the Copilot can't be driven from Claude or another outside client.

What an integration for ETAP could do
- Batch-run Scenario Wizard studies (load flow, short circuit, motor starting) across revisions and configurations through etapPy and summarise the differences.
- Pull bus and element lists and the one-line diagram XML from a project so an agent can answer questions about the network without opening the GUI.
- Distribute a set of transient stability or harmonic cases over several ETAP machines and collect the results into one report.
- Fill ETAP's Excel report templates, for example voltage stability or harmonics grid code, from automated study results.
Know of one, or building one?
If an MCP server or agent skill for ETAP exists, tell us and we'll check it and list it. You can also ask for one, which helps builders see demand.

Questions
Is there an ETAP MCP server?
Not as of 4 November 2026. ETAP's AI features are the in-product Copilot and Auto-Complete, and no community server for ETAP was found; PowerMCP doesn't include one.
Can Claude use the ETAP Copilot?
No. The Copilot runs inside ETAP 2026 and ETAP describes no API or MCP access to it. An outside agent would have to go through etapPy instead.
What would an ETAP integration connect through?
etapPy, ETAP's Python API, which runs studies against local or networked ETAP instances. Its licensing and full reference are handled through ETAP sales and support rather than published online.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
