CYME AI integrations

No MCP server or agent skill for CYME is listed yet (checked 4 Nov 2026). No MCP server or agent skill for CYME is known. Eaton offers a Python scripting module for CYME with a site package, console and script editor, and scripts can run inside CYME or as a stand-alone process from your own Python IDE, which is the natural place for an integration to start. Eaton has announced no AI assistant for CYME. For distribution studies with an existing MCP server, see OpenDSS.

How AI connects to CYME

An MCP server or skill can only do what CYME lets programs do. CYME exposes 1 automation interface:

  • CYME scripting tool with Python (Python): Eaton's Python module adds a site package, console, toolbox and built-in editor. The site package covers network modelling, database access, equipment, reports and error handling, so scripts can read network properties, change equipment and devices, run analyses and collect results. Scripts can also define control logic for capacitors, regulators, battery storage and centralised capacitor control, and they run embedded in CYME or stand-alone, which suits a local MCP server. The function reference sits on the my.cyme.com user portal. Documentation

What Eaton offers

Eaton's CYME pages describe Python scripting and analysis modules but no AI assistant, and no Eaton announcement of LLM or MCP features for CYME turned up. Eaton's 2025 AI news concerned microgrid optimisation with Xendee and a digital energy twin with Autodesk, neither tied to CYME.

What an integration for CYME could do

  • Batch-run load flow or short-circuit analyses over many feeders through the stand-alone Python process and summarise voltage and loading problems.
  • Change equipment or device settings on a feeder from a description, then re-run the analysis and compare results.
  • Write and test a Python control script for capacitors, regulators or battery storage and run it inside a CYME simulation.
  • Pull network properties out of the CYME database to answer questions about a feeder without opening the GUI.

Know of one, or building one?

If an MCP server or agent skill for CYME exists, tell us and we'll check it and list it. You can also ask for one, which helps builders see demand.

Questions

Is there a CYME MCP server?

Not as of 4 November 2026. Neither Eaton nor the community has published one, and PowerMCP doesn't cover CYME.

Can CYME be scripted from outside the application?

Yes. Eaton says CYME Python scripts can run embedded or in a stand-alone process from your own Python IDE, using the CYME site package.

What should I use for AI-assisted distribution studies today?

OpenDSS has three community MCP servers with power flow, hosting capacity and fault tools; CYME models would need converting first.

AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
